Riesling SCHLOSSBERG Grand Cru 2018

Location: Kientzheim 
 
Soil: Granite 
 
Grape variety: 100% Riesling 
 
Tasting note: This wine presents a yellow-green intense and bursty appearance. His olfactory expression is well balanced, prepossessing, fresh, fine and harmonious. We can find out in the aroma bouquet some fresh citrus fruit, Bergamot, Kumquat, ripe lemon and apple stewed. It is easily to guess the origin of terroir which is granites giving this racy typicity. He is bringing us in a universe of minerality. So delicate. The taut perception in mouth, multidimensional with a rocks taste nearly inconspicuous it confers an originality and unique personality. This wine is harmonious, well balanced, dry with a distinguished strength well dosed. Very long finish, without any hardness.  

Food matching : Atlantic cod, raw milk reduction and chin lemon emulsion.

Riesling FURSTENTUM Grand Cru 2017

Tasting note : The colour of the wine is yellow, dominated by some golden reflections. It presents a good intensity. The general aspects omen a wine with a great complexity. It reveals something expressive, straight and attractive. The Riesling is here on a princely terroir with a perceivable elegance. The nose characterized by citrus fruits, grapefruit, kumquat with fine exotic aromas, passion fruit and mango is particularly seductive. His scents let perceive a delicate mineral touch after few moments of aeration. The mouth is frank, generous endowed by a smooth vivacity which contributes to well-balanced this wine. This Riesling is full with an outstanding texture. The exotic aromas are confirmed. We can find some saltiness, signature of a great terroir. His personality is well present. This wine speaks by himself.

Food matching: Carpaccio of scallop, cassolette of lobster, emulsion of langoustine with coconut milk and coriander leaves.

Pinot Gris HENGST Grand Cru 2014

Location: Wintzenheim

Grape variety : 100 % Pinot Gris 
  
Tasting note : This Pinot Gris presents an appereance with an intense color due to its golden yellow and green reflects. The bouquet, event considering the Young vintage, presents concentration with a great personality. We can feel fruity aroma reminding us yellow peach, pear, banae but also confit apricot and fresh almond. In the mouth we have strenght and persistence; it's a dry profile of wine thanks to the tonic vivacity due to the vintage. It's rare to find such vinosity with this kind of nervousness support for the final in mouth with bitterness which ties in more with red wines normally. 

Food matching : "Rump" of veal cooked with a low temperature with vegetables. Roasted turbot with chanterelle and potato emulsion. Snail cassolette with parisian mushroom.

Pinot Gris FURSTENTUM Grand Cru 2014

Location: Kientzheim  
 
Soil : Limestone 

Grape variety : 100% Pinot Gris  
 
Tasting note:  This Pinot Gris has an intense golden yellow color with green tints. The concentrate and expressive bouquet has different ripe fruit aromas as apricot, yellow peach, greengage, mirabelle and quince with some notes of : oriental spices, Punjab's Pepper, clove and vanilla bourbon. On the palate, it is delicate and delicious, elegant and generous: a real pleasure. Its taste confirms its fragrance with well balanced and harmonious acidity. The limestone terroir expresses perfectly a strong and unique personality with lots of complexity. Great aging potential. 
 
Food matching : 
Sweetbreads braised in the hay with a licorice juice reduction.

Gewurztraminer STEINGRUBLER Grand Cru 2016

Location : Wettolsheim

Grape variety : 100 % Gewurztraminer 
 
Tasting note : A shiny, crystalline and intense yellow robe. This wine has a fragrant and expressive bouquet of Dala’s rose aroma, honeysuckle, freesia, enhanced with sweet spicy, star anise, cinnamon, rare pepper. With a lace nose, this Gewurztraminer is sweet and velvet with a dynamic balance. The final in the mouth is persistent and smooth on an exotic aroma.

Food matching : Ideal wine for reception and finger food. Chicken Tajine, apricots with fresh almonds. Thai pineapple chicken and fried rice.

Gewurztraminer FURSTENTUM Grand Cru
Vieilles Vignes 2016

Location: Kientzheim

Grape variety : 100 % Gewurztraminer 
  
Tasting note : This Gewurztraminer has a brilliant, intense golden yellow color. It reveals fruits aromas of good maturity as, Mirabelle, apricot, mandarin, pink grapefruit, mango, candied citrus and green tea with a spicy touch due to a harvest slightly in surmaturity. This wine exalts to the second nose, notes of clove, nutmeg, cinnamon and pepper. On the palate, it is delicate and delicious, elegant, pure and generous: a real pleasure. Its taste confirms perfectly its fragrance with a tiny presence of minerality. Great aging potential.

Food matching: Foie gras terrine and mango chutney. Rabbit stew with apricots. Soft washed rind cheese as Munster.     Blue-veined cheese : Fourme d’Ambert, Bleu de Gex or Roquefort.
